Dr. Craig Spencer, the physician who worked to save ebola patients in Guinea and ended up a patient himself, has finished his treatment and quarantine and is being released today from Bellevue Hospital Center in New York.
Despite coverage of his reign of terror before his arrival at the hospital, he infected no one. The Dallas case gave people the impression ebola victims were an extreme danger to the general populace, but the two most recent cases were medical workers who had been involved with treating ebola patients in African nations for months and were fully aware of the symptoms and risks, and the proper safeguards. In neither recent case did the fears of politicians and newscasters prove to be founded.
No word on his future plans, but we know he likes to walk, jog, hang out on the High Line, bowl, do yoga, and play the banjo. So if you're someone who likes to avoid helping sick people, exercising, or eating anywhere but Taco Bell, you're probably safe. I'd recommend moving to New Jersey.
